Our story · In the founder’s words
I was a dog person.
Then a cat kept showing up.
The FounderTHE CAT CODE™
During a difficult chapter in my life, a cat named Baby Boy kept showing up. I had always known myself to be allergic to cats, so I kept my distance.
Baby Boy apparently had a different plan.
He kept coming around. I did not notice the reaction I had expected with this particular cat, and gradually I stopped keeping so much distance. Then I started paying attention. He became a buddy to me, so I call him Buddy.

The slow blinks. The stretches after a rest. The complete commitment to a comfortable spot. The boundaries. The curiosity. The sudden bursts of ridiculous energy.
Here was an animal that could be alert without always being in a hurry. Spending time with that cat gave me moments of calm and a reason to laugh.
It did not erase the hard things. It gave me something good to notice alongside them.
The sayings came from those observations. Slow Blink. I Give Slow Blinks. Cat Burrito. Small moments that other cat people would recognize immediately.
I want to share what those small moments can mean. THE CAT CODE is our way of doing that: a little humor, a little stillness, and a lot of personality. We hope you recognize a little of your own cat in it. You do not have to stop being a dog person. You just have to appreciate a good cat.
A personal account, not a medical or allergy recommendation.
