Marker timing practice

Improve the caregiver’s timing before adding a training demand.

Observe the voluntary behavior, give one quiet marker at that moment, then give the prepared reward promptly. A marker is not a repeated command.
The sequence is action, marker, prompt reward. Keep the signal quiet and consistent; practice your own timing before adding a cat.
Pause and recall

Where does the marker belong in the sequence?

  1. Use a cup and token for a human-only rehearsal first.
  2. One marker predicts one prompt reward; do not increase volume to obtain attention.
  3. A calm pause or ending is part of the plan.
